- Interment Rights Holder (Rights Holder)
A Rights Holder is the person who signed the Interment Rights Certificate or who is the legal owner. The legal Rights Holder is the only person that may authorize the right to inter within the designated in-ground plot or columbarium niche. The interment rights are only acquired from or with approval of the Oromocto Pioneer Gardens Cemetery Company Inc (OPGCCI). Any proposed exchange of ownership of the Interment Rights certificate must be requested in writing and approved by the OPGCCI. A common misconception is that the Rights Holder purchases the burial plot, site or niche. A Rights Holder only purchases the right to inter and not the plot, site or niche. The cemetery maintains ownership of all sites, columbaria and niches and sets the rules as described in the By-Laws and Rules and Regulations.
- Columbarium
A columbarium is an above-ground structure designed for the purpose of housing the urns containing cremated human remains in sealed compartments called niches.
- Field of Honour
The OPGCCI Field of Honour (FOH) is reserved for military veterans, law enforcement officers, and firefighters. Traditional in-ground burial as well as inurnment in the FOH columbarium is available. The FOH will be governed by standards set by the Last Post Fund (LPF) and OPGCCI.
- Grade Beam
The grade beam is the pre-installed foundation provided by the OPGCCI on which the monument will be placed. The cost for a single grave includes the cost of the grade beam.
- Niche
A niche is the compartment within a columbarium in which the urn will be placed. The OPGCCI has three sizes of niches depending on location and the columbarium used. See the price list for size and the number of urns allowed in each columbarium.
- Urn
An urn is the container used to hold cremated human remains.
