Richard Burchill came to the cemetery board in 2017, After a military career of 37 years. He served the board as a director and the sales representative for six years. Richard became the President of the Board in the fall of 2023. He has been involved in many upgrades to our beautiful cemetery over the past six years including paving, new garage, new columbarium in the field of honour and many smaller projects such as weekly grooming etc. Rick has a dedication to keep our cemetery on the leading edge of New Brunswicker’s final resting places including our popular “field of honour”.

Vice PresidentHe joined the CF as a vehicle technician in 1972, retiring in 1998 as a warrant officer. Postings included Germany, London Ontario and three times to CFB. Gagetown. While posted to London with 1 RCR he did two trips to Norway for winter warfare training. When posted to Gagetown he served at CFS Alert for six months and also two tours of the Golan Heights. Once in Syria and once in Israel. Upon retiring from the CF in 1998 he continued to serve as a public servant for an additional 21 years in 2019. Having lots of time on his hands he volunteered to serve on the board of directors for the Oromocto Pioneer Gardens helping with the cemetery grounds keeping. He eventually became the grounds keeping manager and now as the Vice President as well. Bill takes great pride and satisfaction in the fact that the cemetery is a beautiful place for your final resting place.

2nd Vice PresidentMaurice (Moe) R. Dubé
TreasurerHe spent over 35 years within the Canadian Armed Forces as a Logistician occupying several positions involving purchasing goods and services and monitoring unit budgets, retiring in 2008. He served at Bases in Summerside PE, Moncton NB, Lahr Germany, Camp Borden ON, Chatham NB, Montreal and Longue-Pointe PQ and Gagetown NB. He also worked two years for a Kent store in Fredericton. After working as a primary care giver for several years, he became a member of N.B. Crime Stoppers and subsequently was asked to join the Oromocto Pioneer Gardens Cemetery Board of Directors as the treasurer, to fill the vacant position. As the treasurer, he handles all accounting and financial operations of the cemetery. His past experience will be beneficial for the future of this Cemetery and he is looking forward to becoming a proud member.
Sheila Bergeron
Administrative AssistantSince moving to Oromocto in 1989, she is proud to call Oromocto her home. She currently works for the Department of National Defence at CFB Gagetown as a Program Advisor and previously worked for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police for over 10 years and the Town of Oromocto for over 11 years. Due to her personal interests in the cemetery, she decided to become a board member in June 2023. She looks forward to seeing the cemetery grow and working with the board members that have accomplished so much on the growth of the cemetery to date.
